Established in 1898 as a wholly owned state institution to serve the global financial needs of Egypt, National Bank of Egypt has developed one of the largest, strategically distributed, network of branches in Egypt.

Internationally, the National Bank of Egypt operates through a global network of branches (New York and Shanghai), subsidiaries (London) and representative offices (Dubai and Johannesburg).

The New York Branch is chartered by the State of New York Banking Department and commenced operation on January 1st, 2001.

The specific role of the New York Branch is to facilitate trade and capital flows between the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region and the Americas.
